Age Concern Birmingham have a Handyperson service to carry out DIY jobs, repairs, maintenance, adaptations and installing home safety equipment around the home or in the garden.

Examples of what can be offered Include:

  • Changing light bulbs or door / window locks
  • Carpentry tasks
  • Installing or replacing smoke alarms
  • Fixing grab rails and key safes
  • Gardening
  • Painting internally and externally
  • Assembling furniture and items
  • General odd jobs, property maintenance and much more… just ask.

The Handyperson is police and quality checked for your own peace of mind.


Age Concern Birmingham works with a variety of different tradespeople to meet the needs of our customers . We offer a full range of services to improve and  maintain your home from cleaning windows to building an extension.

Let one of our team members know what type of work you need doing, they will refer you on to the most appropriate tradesperson to provide a free, no obligation quotation. We always recommend you get more than one quote before choosing a tradesperson, especially for large jobs. With our tradespeople you have peace of mind that they are quality and police checked.

Age concern Birmingham will receive a small donation for any work carried out via a tradesperson partner at no cost to our customers.


Age Concern Birmingham works in partnership with different stairlift providers to provide a range of new and reconditioned stair lifts available to buy or rent. A 12% discount is available for all Age Concern Birmingham clients on stairlift purchases.

A free no obligation home visit is available to provide a personalised assessment and quotation for Age Concern Birmingham clients.
