Neighbourhood Network Schemes’ (NNS) are Locality and Constituency based networks designed to engage and develop services for older people (aged 50+) – connecting people, groups and places at a neighbourhood level. The NNS approach is integral to the new ‘Community Social Work’ model and examples investment in ‘Prevention First’ through Adult Social Care Services.

NNS will support older people by increased ‘social participation’, ‘healthier lifestyles’, ‘maximised income’, independent living’ and ‘support for carers’.

Our Neighbourhood Network Scheme looks to co-produce a great range of community led activities, make opportunities for people to connect meaningfully and influence positive change. We have an exciting and new role, Community Development Worker- Additional Needs, as our programme is expanding to include adults with additional needs, such as sensory impairment, learning difficulties, physical disability and mental health issues.

This role will be responsible for translating our pilot programme strategy into operational activities, ensuring that we are providing valuable services and activities to adults with additional needs and local community assets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Additional Needs Pilot Project.
  • Build meaningful and collaborative relationships with local community assets and key stakeholders.
  • Support and develop services and activates for adults with additional needs.
